South Africa's top men's competition is the Basketball National League (BNL), launched with 12 teams in 2013 per a government announcement. I could not confirm on a primary page who runs it today or how it relates to Basketball South Africa. Johannesburg Giants entered the 2026 BAL through the Road to BAL qualifiers, not as an automatic national champion.

National federation: Basketball South Africa.

Rules change each season and clubs apply them differently. Confirm any figure with the league or federation before you rely on it. This is education, not legal or tax advice. See a figure that is out of date? Send a correction with the source link.
