Rwanda basketball leagues

Checked 2026-10-31FIBA code RWA

APR entered the 2026 BAL as Rwanda's national league champion, so a national men's league exists. I found no federation page on its structure, team count or promotion rules.

National federation: Fédération Rwandaise de Basketball Amateur (FERWABA).

The Basketball Africa League is a pan-African club competition, not Rwanda's national top flight, so it is not listed as a league here. The national league is the relevant top level. League name comes from secondary sources, hence not yet verified. Champion fact: https://about.fiba.basketball/en/news/basketball-africa-league-announces-12-teams-and-group-phase-schedule-for-2026-season. No women's row.

Rules change each season and clubs apply them differently. Confirm any figure with the league or federation before you rely on it. This is education, not legal or tax advice. See a figure that is out of date? Send a correction with the source link.

Next: build your question list for a Rwanda offer, work out take-home pay or read how overseas contracts work.
