Checked 2026-10-31FIBA code MAR

The federation runs a Division Excellence for men and a separate Excellence Dames championship. The 2025-26 Excellence rulebook sends the bottom three of 14 clubs down automatically and puts the 11th club into a play-off against a lower-division side.

National federation: Fédération Royale Marocaine de Basket-Ball.

Rulebook 'championnat d'excellence 2025-2026' on frmbb.ma says 14 clubs and 26 games each, but does not say men or women, so teams is null and the relegation text is labelled 2025-26. The foreign-player rule was not in that text. A June 2026 men's rulebook (likely 2026-27) and a 2025-26 Excellence Dames rulebook exist on frmbb.ma but could not be opened by my tools. FUS Rabat was the champion that entered the 2026 BAL (https://about.fiba.basketball/en/news/basketball-africa-league-announces-12-teams-and-group-phase-schedule-for-2026-season).

Rules change each season and clubs apply them differently. Confirm any figure with the league or federation before you rely on it. This is education, not legal or tax advice. See a figure that is out of date? Send a correction with the source link.
