Angola basketball leagues

The men's national championship, branded Unitel Basket in press, is the top competition, and Petro de Luanda was its champion that qualified for the 2026 BAL. I could not open the federation site (fab.ao returned errors), so tiers, promotion and relegation are unverified.

National federation: Federaçao Angolana de Basquetebol.

fab.ao pages failed to load. The league name comes from a Ver Angola news item (17 teams in 2025-26, not used as a field because it is not the federation and not the current season). Champion confirmed on FIBA: https://about.fiba.basketball/en/news/basketball-africa-league-announces-12-teams-and-group-phase-schedule-for-2026-season. Women's league not verified, so no women's row.

Rules change each season and clubs apply them differently. Confirm any figure with the league or federation before you rely on it. This is education, not legal or tax advice. See a figure that is out of date? Send a correction with the source link.

Next: build your question list for a Angola offer, work out take-home pay or read how overseas contracts work.
